Recruitment Overview
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2025 Examination. This exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across India.
Eligible and interested candidates, both male and female, can submit their applications online through the official CSIR NET portal csirnet.nta.ac.in. The online application process will remain open from 25th September 2025 to 24th October 2025.

Eligibility Criteria : CSIR UGC NET December 2025
Educational Qualification
Candidates belonging to General/Unreserved/General-EWS categories must have secured a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination.
Candidates from OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender categories are eligible with at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination.
Students who are pursuing their Master’s degree or have appeared in the final year of Master’s examination and are awaiting results, or whose qualifying exams have been delayed, are also eligible to apply.
Applicants holding a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree are also permitted to appear in CSIR UGC NET December 2025 in the relevant subject, as mentioned in the official list of subjects (Annexure-I of the prospectus), if they wish to pursue a Ph.D., irrespective of their graduation discipline.
Age Limit
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The upper age limit is 30 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination concludes (i.e., December 2025).
