Recruitment Overview
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) – Operations in Bihar Police Radio (Wireless). Through Advertisement No. 04/2026, a total of 462 vacancies will be filled.
Eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications online only through the official BPSSC website bpssc.bihar.gov.in. The online registration process will start on 04 February 2026 and will remain open until 04 March 2026. Applicants are advised to complete the form well before the last date for the BPSSC ASI Operations Recruitment Examination 2026.

Educational Qualification: Bihar ASI Operation 2026
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics from a recognized university. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required to be eligible. Applicants under the SC/ST categories can apply with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks. The prescribed educational qualification must be completed on or before 01 August 2025.

Bihar Police ASI Operations 2026 Syllabus with Test Pattern
🔹 Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination will consist of one objective-type question paper carrying a total of 100 marks. The paper will include 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and the exam duration will be 2 hours.
The question paper will be divided as follows:
General Knowledge & Current Affairs: 40 Questions
Physics: 60 Questions
The standard of questions will be at the graduate (science) level. Candidates scoring less than 30% marks in the Preliminary Examination will be declared unsuccessful and will not be eligible to appear for the Main Examination.
🔹 Main Examination
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be allowed to appear for the Main Examination, which will be conducted in two separate papers.
📘 Paper–I: General Language Proficiency
Paper–I will be of 100 marks, consisting of:
General Hindi: 50 Marks
General English: 50 Marks
The questions will be of Intermediate (10+2) level and will be objective-type MCQs.
Exam Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30 Marks (Mandatory)
Marks obtained in this paper will not be added to the final merit list.
Candidates failing to secure the minimum qualifying marks will be disqualified.
📗 Paper–II: Physics
Paper–II will be based on Graduate-level Physics and will include:
Total Marks: 100
Number of Questions: 100 (MCQs)
Exam Duration: 3 Hours
Candidates must score at least 33% marks in this paper. Those securing less than the required marks will be considered failed.
❗ Negative Marking
In both Preliminary and Main Examinations,
Candidates will lose 0.2 marks for each incorrect response.
The answer sheet will be prepared in two copies, out of which one copy will be preserved by the Commission.
