Recruitment Overview

The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission is set to release the Preliminary Examination Admit Card online for the recruitment of Police Sub Inspector (SI) / Daroga posts. Official Notice: Bihar Police SI Admit Card 2025 Download

The e-admit cards for the Preliminary Written Examination will be issued online for candidates appearing in the exam scheduled on 18 January 2026 (Sunday) and 21 January 2026 (Wednesday). The examination will be conducted in two shifts on each day. Candidates will be able to access their admit cards from 30 December 2025 onwards through the official website bpssc.bihar.gov.in by selecting the “Bihar Police” section.

Applicants are advised to download and take a printout of the e-admit card well in advance. Entry to the allotted examination centre will be permitted only on producing the admit card along with a valid photo identity proof, such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN Card, or Passport. In case the photograph printed on the admit card is unclear or missing, candidates must carry two recent passport-size photographs, which should be the same as those uploaded in the online application form.

Written Examination Structure

The written examination will be conducted in two stages, namely the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination. All question papers in both stages will consist of objective-type (multiple choice) questions.


Stage I: Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Exam will comprise one paper carrying a total of 200 marks. The paper will include 100 questions, and the duration of the examination will be 2 hours. Questions in this paper will be based on General Knowledge and Current Affairs.

Candidates securing less than 30% marks in the preliminary examination will be considered not qualified and will not be allowed to appear in the Main Examination.


Stage II: Main Examination

Candidates who qualify in the preliminary stage will be eligible to appear for the Main Examination, which will consist of two separate papers:

Paper I: General Hindi

  • Total Marks: 200

  • Number of Questions: 100

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Minimum qualifying marks: 30%

It is mandatory to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in this paper; otherwise, the candidate will be declared disqualified. Marks obtained in the General Hindi paper will not be counted for final merit preparation.

Paper II: General Studies

This paper will include questions from:

  • General Studies

  • General Science

  • Civics

  • Indian History

  • Indian Geography

  • Mathematics

  • Mental Ability

  • Total Marks: 200

  • Number of Questions: 100

  • Duration: 2 hours


Negative Marking & Answer Sheet

In both stages of the examination, 0.2 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The answer sheet will be prepared in two copies, out of which one copy will be retained by the Commission for record purposes.
