Delhi High Court JJA Examination Scheme 2026 – Complete Test Pattern

The recruitment process for the Delhi High Court Junior Judicial Assistant (JJA) post includes two stages of written examination – a Preliminary Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Main Descriptive Examination.Applicants are required to clear every stage of the examination to proceed further in the recruitment process.


🔹 Preliminary Examination (Computer-Based Test)

The preliminary stage will be conducted in online mode and will carry a total of 120 marks.A total duration of 120 minutes will be provided to candidates to attempt the examination. The paper will consist of objective-type questions from multiple subjects, including:

  • English Language and Comprehension: 45 questions carrying 45 marks

  • General Awareness, Current Affairs, and General Knowledge: 45 questions carrying 45 marks

  • General Intelligence, Reasoning Ability, and Numerical/Arithmetic Ability: 30 questions carrying 30 marks

Candidates should note that negative marking will be applicable in the preliminary exam. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be applied for each wrong response in the examination.


🔹 Main Examination (Descriptive Test)

Candidates who qualify for the preliminary stage will be called for the Main Descriptive Examination. This exam will be conducted for 100 marks with a duration of 120 minutes and will evaluate the candidate’s English language skills.

The Main Examination will include two sections:

Part A: Writing Skills

  • Essay Writing (Approximately 250 words) – 40 Marks

  • Letter Writing – 10 Marks

Part B: Language Proficiency

  • Grammar – 30 Marks

  • Translation (Around 25 words) – 20 Marks
