The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the online registration form for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (January attempt). This entrance exam is conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses in top engineering institutes across India.
Eligible Indian candidates can submit their JEE Main 2026 Session 1 application form through the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in starting from 31st October 2025. The last date to apply online is 27th November 2025.

Eligibility Criteria : JEE Mains 2026

Age Limit for JEE Main 2026

There is no age restriction for appearing in the JEE (Main) 2026 Examination.
Candidates who have passed their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in 2024 or 2025, or are appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2026, regardless of their age.
However, candidates must satisfy the age criteria of the institute they wish to join (such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, or other CFTIs).


List of Accepted Qualifying Examinations (QE)

Applicants must have passed one of the following qualifying examinations to be eligible for JEE Main 2026:

  1. Final examination of the 10+2 system conducted by any recognized Central or State Board.

  2. Intermediate or 2-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board or University.

  3. Final examination of the 2-years course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

  4. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) with at least five subjects.

  5. Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or abroad recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to the 10+2 system.

  6. Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.

  7. 3-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

  8. GCE Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.

  9. High School Certificate Examination of Cambridge University or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from the IB Office, Geneva.

  10. Candidates who have completed Class 12 (or equivalent) outside India or from a non-listed Board must obtain an equivalency certificate from AIU.

  11. If the Class 12 examination is not a public exam, candidates must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination previously.

  12. Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim.

How to Register for JEE Main 2026 – Step-by-Step Application Process

To begin the JEE Main 2026 registration process, candidates must first register online and obtain a system-generated Application Number.
During registration, applicants need to enter their basic personal details, create a secure password, and select a security question along with its answer for future verification.

Once the personal details are successfully submitted, the system will generate a unique Application Number, which will be used to complete the remaining stages of the JEE Main 2026 Application Form.
This number should be carefully noted, as it will be required for all future logins, form corrections, admit card downloads, and correspondence related to the exam.

The same Application Number will remain valid for both Sessions of JEE (Main) 2026. Candidates can later log in directly using their Application Number and Password created during registration.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2026 Application – Complete Detail

After completing the registration process, candidates must upload the required scanned images and documents as per the official JEE Main 2026 guidelines. Ensure all files are clear, correctly named, and within the specified size limits.

    • The photograph must be recent, coloured, and show 80% of the candidate’s face (without mask), including ears, against a white background.

  2. Candidate’s Signature

    • Upload a scanned image of your signature done in black or blue ink on white paper.

    • The signature must be clear and readable.

  3. Class 10 Certificate / Marks Sheet

    • Upload a scanned copy of the Class X (or equivalent) certificate or marks sheet.

    • File size: 50 KB to 300 KB

    • The document should be clearly legible.

  4. PwD / PwBD Certificate (if applicable)

    • Candidates applying under the PwD category must upload a valid disability certificate.
